People seek counselling for many different reasons, these are just a few:

    • Stress
    • Anxiety
    • Relationship Breakdowns/Issues
    • Self Harming
    • Life Changes; e.g. Family moving to University
    • Sexuality
    • Eating Disorder
    • Suicidal Issues
    • Bereavement and Loss
    • Low Self-esteem
    • Marital Problems
    • Coming to terms with things that have happened and can’t be undone

Is life getting you down and are you struggling to make sense of things?  Have you a sense of sadness or dissatisfaction within your life, yet feel at a loss as to why you should feel this way?  Are relationships hard work?

Maybe you recognise the need to make some change in your life and would like some support to explore your choices; choices that would allow you to live your life as you would wish to.  Perhaps what is happening, or has happened to you in your past creates barriers to your ability to move forward in life.

Of course, you may feel that your issues are somehow different and do not fit in with any of the above.  This really doesn’t matter as we believe that whatever the issues most of them can be worked through with counselling.

How Counselling May Help

Counselling provides an opportunity for you to gain a better understanding of yourself and the issues that trouble you.  You may want to explore aspects of yourself and your history that you have never explored before.

Maybe you wish to have a better understanding of yourself and your relationships with others.  Perhaps you need to come to terms with painful events or memories from the past.

Counselling offers you a safe place and the time to talk about things that are troubling you. It  helps you resolve your difficulties and to live your life as you would like to.
